Turkmenistan Streamlines Trade Operations

On September 6, 2024, during a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr Attdayev reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the development of trade and economic cooperation with foreign countries. The deputy chairman also informed about the steps taken to simplify trade procedures in the country. This was reported by TDH.

In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister informed about the measures taken to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed on March 11 of this year between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the framework of the regional project "Simplifying Trade Procedures in Central Asia".

As noted, in order to implement the Memorandum, a draft Plan of Activities was jointly developed, which is planned to be implemented by the end of 2024. This document was submitted for consideration to the head of Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, noting the importance of developing trade and economic cooperation with countries around the world, including regional countries, emphasized the need for the constant improvement of trade operations in accordance with international standards, simplification of business processes through the introduction of advanced technologies and a digital system.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to carry out appropriate measures within the framework of the regional project "Simplifying Trade Procedures in Central Asia".

Attdayev recalled that in March 2024, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding within the framework of the regional project "Simplifying Trade Procedures in Central Asia".

To implement this document, a draft Plan of Activities was developed, which is planned to be implemented by the end of this year. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted the document for consideration to the head of state.

The head of state pointed to the importance of simplifying business processes through the introduction of advanced technologies and digitalization in all sectors of the economy. Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Batyr Attdayev to carry out the necessary measures within the framework of the aforementioned project.
