Delivering a keynote speech at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan on September 23, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov summarized the performance of various sectors of the national economy.

Touching upon the activities of the trade complex, the President referred to it as one of the leading segments of the national economy.

As the Head of State noted, the country ensures the availability of goods and price stability, while the quality of trade services is consistently improving. Effective measures are being taken to supply the domestic markets with locally produced agricultural, food, and other consumer goods. Great importance is also attached to establishing new enterprises for the production of high-quality goods bearing the "Made in Turkmenistan" label.

In this regard, the President highlighted the modern Shopping Center currently under construction in Ashgabat, as well as the planned opening of numerous trade and service facilities later this year.

It was noted that the strengthening of trade partnerships is facilitated by organizing and participating in international exhibitions, conferences, and business meetings both domestically and abroad.

"In 2027, we will participate in the International Exhibition 'EXPO 2027' in the Republic of Serbia, presenting our National Exposition," the Head of State stated.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s speech also highlighted the steadily growing role of the private sector, which is a direct result of ongoing targeted government programs. "Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs are making a worthy contribution to the prosperity of Turkmenistan," the Head of State said, emphasizing the country's commitment to the further development of small, medium, and large enterprises.
