On July 10, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to review the results of the first half of the year across all sectors of the national economy, including the trade complex.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on the performance of the subordinate ministries, sectoral departments, and the business sector. Notably, it was reported that during the reviewed period, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations achieved a trade turnover growth rate of 108.8% compared to the same period last year.

The Head of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of productive work to fully utilize the production potential of the trade sector. He noted that constant attention must be paid to improving the supply of food and other high-demand products to the domestic market and retail outlets, while ensuring high-quality customer service for the public.

The President also highlighted the need to implement strategic measures to create new manufacturing facilities, increase the volume of goods produced and services rendered, and widely leverage the capabilities of the private sector in this process.

Furthermore, the importance of taking comprehensive measures to improve the quality of textile goods and applying international best practices in the trade of carpets and carpet products was underscored. The Deputy Prime Minister received specific instructions on further enhancing the operations of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was also tasked with introducing advanced technologies from developed nations to boost the country's export potential.
