Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced a 10.1 percent GDP growth in the trade sector during his speech at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting dedicated to the results of the country's economic sectors in 2024.  

Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyyev, reporting on the results of the ministries and agencies under his supervision, as well as the business sector, informed that the growth rate of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2024 was 111.8 percent. 27 exhibitions and 131 conferences were held. The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs reported a 110 percent growth rate in agricultural and food production, and 104.1 percent in industrial goods.

Summarizing the report, the head of state ordered to fully utilize the production potential of the trade complex to improve the supply of domestic markets with food and other in-demand products, and to effectively organize the activities of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Emphasizing that the further stable growth of the national economy depends on the activation of private entrepreneurship, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to keep the work on the development of the non-state sector of the country in the center of attention.

The head of state also noted that in accordance with the Program for Socio-Economic Development and Investments of Turkmenistan in 2025, it is planned to develop small and medium-sized businesses, and to increase the share of the private sector in the GDP structure to 71.6 percent.
