From August 5th to 8th, 2025, the third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries took place in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone. The conference's main theme was "Promoting Progress Through Partnership," which emphasized the importance of a unified effort to solve common challenges.

Participants examined both the current challenges and future opportunities for landlocked countries, developing a unified approach to overcome them.

A key outcome of the conference was the adoption of two crucial documents: the "Avaza" Program of Action for 2024-2034 and the "Avaza" Political Declaration. These strategic initiatives aim to improve transit systems, diversify economies, advance digital transformation, increase resilience to climate change, and attract sustainable financing.

Concluding the forum, Rashid Meredov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, underscored the significance of the results achieved and the necessity of their implementation through the combined efforts of all stakeholders: transit countries, regional organizations, international financial institutions, the UN system, and civil society.

Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and partners, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the UN team, for their contributions and support.
