An exhibition of Afghan goods began in Ashgabat

An exhibition of Afghan goods opened in the Turkmen capital on March 4, and a business forum of business circles of the two states was also held.

The delegation of the friendly country included representatives of government agencies of Afghanistan, managers and specialists of more than 230 companies and firms.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by members of the government, heads of ministries and departments, public organizations, representatives of diplomatic missions and international structures accredited in Ashgabat, businessmen, and the media. In the afternoon, the exhibition was visited by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. On the sidelines of the review, Arkadag held a business meeting dedicated to the issues of comprehensive development of interstate cooperation.

The exhibition displays a variety of products, including carpets, jewelry, building materials, household and industrial chemicals, vegetables and fruits, food products, etc.

Most of the exhibition was occupied by numerous stands and pavilions of the trade sector. These include trading companies, manufacturers of food products, dried fruits, fruit and vegetable processing factories, as well as the Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan, the Office for Promoting the Export of Afghan Raisins.

Of interest are the pavilions dedicated to folk crafts and decorative and applied arts.

The exhibition also features stands of companies and firms specializing in the oil and gas sector, engaged in construction and production of building materials, plastic, glass and wood, as well as steel mills, a metallurgical plant and others. Proposals for the development of complex projects in agriculture, transport and logistics are of great interest. Medical clinics and a pharmaceutical plant will present their achievements and capabilities.

The exhibition reflected the spheres of science and education, printing and printing. The exhibition also introduces the activities of Afghan banks.

As part of the review, a Turkmen-Afghan business forum was held in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which a wide range of issues related to the implementation of the trade, economic, export and investment potential of the two countries were discussed.

A more specific discussion of joint projects and further areas of interaction took place during bilateral meetings of representatives of relevant ministries and departments, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan with Afghan colleagues, which resulted in the signing of various documents.

As part of the exhibition of Afghan goods and business forum, a meeting of women entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan was held.

On the sidelines of the show, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan plans to hold on-site trading with the participation of domestic and Afghan businessmen.

The exhibition of Afghan goods will last until March 6 inclusive.
