The National Organization of Turkmenistan for Barcodes celebrated its 10th anniversary

On March 27, the National Organization of Turkmenistan for Barcodes - a member of the international structure "GS1" celebrated ten years since the date of formation, traditionally timed to this date the general meeting of its members.
Chairman of NOTBC Aykamar Malikgulyeva made a detailed review of the organization's activities for the marked period and implementation of the working program for 2023-2024, which provides for the introduction of automatic identification technologies and GS1 standards in different sectors of the national economy of Turkmenistan. The report noted the achievements of the organization in these directions and defined the tasks for the coming period.
As it was noted, over 76 thousand bar codes have been issued to date, domestic commodity products have been appropriately labeled. NOTBC has fully covered the system of automatic identification of Turkmen commodity producers, which is an effective guarantee for their promotion in the world markets.
The National Organization of Turkmenistan for Barcodes has 2440 structures, including ministries and sectoral departments, organizations and enterprises of the public and private sector.
Among the achievements of the NOTSC for 10 years are membership in the international organization GS1, the establishment of the National Technical Committee for Standardization, as well as the opening of the verification laboratory in 2017, which allows to control the compliance of barcode application with international standards.
Over the past decade the work on harmonization of national standards with international documents, active introduction of international and interstate standards into practice has been successfully done.
The website "Made in Turkmenistan" developed by the NOTBC also contributes to the improvement of the information database on Turkmen producers,
NOTBC plans to continue work to support the effective use of different types of automatic identification in various fields. A platform for the protection of producers' rights is being developed.
Positive assessment of the work of NOTBC was given in the speeches of its members - representatives of state and private structures. The importance of the organization's activities in the light of the tasks set for the development of public-private partnership, implementation of the Concept of Digital Economy, creation of new high-tech industries and promotion of products of Turkmen manufacturers to foreign markets was noted.
The participants of the meeting also heard the report on the activities of the Control and Audit Commission and considered a number of organizational issues.
